Introducing the Green Point Rating Program for New Homes

The Build It Green, Green Point Rating Program for new homes is to help the builder design the home to be greener from the ground up.  It is when you are in the planning stages and ready to procure your products and building materials that get your project a minimum Title 24 (http://www.energy.ca.gov/title24/) rating to think about getting the maximum effieciency rating for your home, not to mention identifying the energy tax credits associated with your project.  That is where the Certified Green Building Professional (CGBP) will be an invaluable resource to you.

A CGBP hs the experise to maximize the point rating via the Build It Green certification.  Your CGBP is the one to turn to for answers. (www.builditgreen.org)

Having a home certified shows that your home will NOT be just one of the many that a Realtor might show.  Studies have shown that a home that is rated and certified with energy efficiency, indoor air quality, water conservation, community design and resource conservation sells faster and at a higher value per square foot than those that do not have this certification. Home Energy Rating Services (HERS)
Certified by California Building Performance Contractors Association (CBPCA) and Resnet Rater Member (Residential Energy Services Network)

CBPCA is one of only a few HERS rater training programs in California. It is California's first and only HERS provider that the California Energy Commission has approved with a Third Party Quality Control Program.  CBPCA is California's newest HERS Provider.  HERS raters are certified to act as independent verifiers of energy performance in existing residences under California Title 24.
